MY FIRST HUGE FUCKING SPLASH PAGE!
It’s here that the reason this is one of my favorite folk tales becomes very evident. What was previously an exercise in monetary vice, charity, and morality becomes…well, what you see below.
And trust me, this ain’t even to the WEIRD shit yet.
WHAT HAS TRANSPIRED BEFORE:
Parts Two and Three
Parts Four and Five
And now…CLICK TO MAKE IT HUGE:
I know, guys. I know.
And we haven’t even gotten to the part where….
Man, I really like movies.
Over the past few years, I have occasionally gotten the itch to draw something from a favorite movie and then have people guess what it is.
NOW IT IS THAT TIME AGAIN.
Prizes are offered for correct answers:
First Place: Nine
Second Place: More
Third Place: Relax
Anyroad, here’s the latest, and you can find the rest after the jump.
Vague Concept of Love,

…the closer I get to 7pm tomorrow night.
Here’s some Archive Art that is totally related:
Yes, I already pre-bought tickets for the Big-D experience. No way am I risking not getting a ticket when I arrive.
Reminding you that maybe there’s a little bit of Godzilla in every one of us
Now that I’ve made what maybe was possibly a stab at what is and isn’t historically relevant, as well as what should be considered destructive and what constructive…
Well, here’s another card, slight variation.
Now I’m really starting to explore things in my head, namely what is important history vs life’s detritus, as well as what defacing either means.
Is it enough that I documented this before I wrote on it or does it belong with so many woefully-outdated things at libraries?
Perhaps it’s just time for some creative recycling?
Anyroad, benchilada.net is gonna be migrating servers in the next week, so the site will be down for a few days at some point soon.
In the mean time, I have two pieces I’m drawing, as well as a written thing that may someday be done.
PS – Heh. Nibiru stuff always cracks me up.
Next week comes a big splash page for The Wizard’s Lesson and with a bit of luck, a new Whodorable character.
Oh, and I’ve got some written entries coming up, about Tourette’s and OCD, so watch for ’em.
Please, now, to enjoy some older art:
See you next week,
I’m really happy with this one.
“Happiness” – ink on paper, benjamin sTone, 2014
And yeah, there’s more to it than just a bad joke. 🙂
Nadja and I recently watched The Holy Flame of the Martial World, and by the time it ended we both agreed that it was top-fucking-tier Martial Arts Madness. Flicks like Zu: Warriors of the Magic Mountain and A Chinese Ghost Story would never have happened without movies like this happening first.
Here’s the trailer, but it’s a Hong Kong film, so they’re going to throw spoilers at you left-and-right, starting right after the hair fight at :41. By the time you hit :50 you get light spoilers and at the end they give away a huge plot point. I also advise watching it in large–but not fullscreen–format.
If you don’t give a shit, watch it all. If you’ve got nine bucks, though, skip the spoilers and enjoy the breadth and butterth of this beautiful celluloid madness.
Question the First:
It is, bare minimum, a 50-cent fine.
[EDIT: Please see the comment section for this piece’s new name and an evaluation of content.]
Second the Question:
Remember that I love you,
A number of you haven’t been following my art for a really long time, so I feel that in the interest of full-disclosure, I should reveal the following:
My comics are not always sensitive.
They’re not always kind.
They’re occasionally TRULY filthy.
They’re not comics you’d take home to mother–although mine finds them hilarious.
I call one set of them Inappropriate Comix for a reason. If that title worries you, don’t look. You don’t have to like all my art, but I think it’s only fair that you know about this one particular aspect.
If this sort of thing isn’t for you, I have little advice to give you, save that “perhaps benchilada is not for you.”
If you’re reading this only to see things that are gonna offend you, please, for the love all of pleasurable sex, go play some adorable Pucca games or something. Otherwise, you have only yourself and your lack of self-control to blame if you get pissy.
Now lie back and think of England.
There, that wasn’t so b–oh, I can’t even lie about it. Either you laughed or you want to picket my home.
I’m fine with either and I will always love you.
PS – The rest are here, although some are not-the-best quality because they were one of the first things I drew regularly.
PPS – Cats can appreciate art, too.
Here we have the next two pages of The Wizard’s Lesson, in which maybe a lesson is learned but it’s totally not THE wizard’s lesson.
SHIT. GETS. REAL.
As always, click the pics to make ’em bigger.
PS – Each translation says that it’s a juniper forest, so I figured I might as well mention it. *shrug*
